CPGG/UFBA - Centro de Pesquisa em Geofísica e Geologia (CPGG/UFBA - University of Bahia, Brazil) Established by the University Council in March, 1997 to develop interdisciplinary scientific research and to support undergraduate and graduate courses in Geophysics and Geology. In Geophysics, the emphasis are on Petroleum, Groundwater and Mineral Exploration. At the graduate level offers Masters and Doctorate degrees. The Center has a permanent staff of 16.PhDs and has Visiting Scientists from USA. Canada, Germany, Norway, Czech Republic, UK, Spain, Israel, Russia, India and others. At least, three visiting professors/year have participated in the CPGG/UFBA program in recent years. |

Em 17 de abril de 2007, o Colegiado Superior da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) aprovou a criação do Curso de Graduação em Geofísica que funcionará no Centro de Ciências Exatas e da Terra. O título concedido será de Bacharel em Geofísica. O curso abrirá 30 vagas. O curso de Graduação em Geofísica terá duração de 4 anos, totalizando 2985 horas-aula, distribuídas em 145 unidades de crédito, dos quais 31 de laboratório e campo, no conjunto das disciplinas obrigatórias.
