17th International Congress of the Brazilian Geophysical Society
New date and change from modality to online
Digital Revolution: Expanding the limits of Geophysics
The Brazilian Geophysical Society - SBGf, in view of the COVID-19 Pandemic and aiming at the safety of all our congressmen, sponsors and supporters, informs that the 17th International Congress of the Brazilian Geophysical Society has been rescheduled to the dates of 8-11 November 2021 as an ONLINE event. This decision was taken due to security reasons, as we still don't have a clear scenario regarding the Pandemic that would allow us to have an in person event.
The online 17th SBGf International Congress will have exactly the same technical-scientific structure, technical sessions, courses, conferences, lectures, workshops, round tables, and the Seismology Symposium, which was scheduled to take place during the hybrid events (https://sbgf.org.br/congresso/).
The new Call for Papers deadline is May 31, 2021.
We will soon contact the authors who have already submitted their work with detailed information on the structure for the presentations, both oral and poster sessions.
Regarding the Expogef-2021, we inform that the Executive Committee is consulting exhibiting companies and sponsors in order to evaluate the feasibility of carrying out a online exhibition.
We are also considering the possibility of changing registration fees for the event, as the event will no longer be held in person.
We are working hard to promote interactivity between congress members, sponsors and supporters in our online event, with the commitment that the online environment becomes a great alternative for sharing scientific, technological and business information just as it would happen in an onsite event.
The Brazilian Geophysical Society and the Executive Committee hope that everyone understands these changes, which, unfortunately, are part of the process of adapting in person events during the COVID-19 Pandemic period.
